Teenage Eagle

Kurtis had his Eagle Court of Honor and turned 13 all on the same day. He shared the evening with his good friend Kimball and they were both presented with their eagle awards from their wonderful scoutmaster Ben Johnson. Kurtis choose Coach Jason Cole, his fantastic baseball coach, to receive his mentor pin. Kudos to Kristen Miner for capturing the evening with beautiful pictures for lasting memories!

70.3

Jeff challenged me to another 1/2 ironman - always an adventure!
Grandma & Grandpa met us in Isle of Palm, SC to watch us race and entertain the boys.  We stayed at a beach house and thanks to the Johnsons, we were hooked up with beach boards that kept the boys glued to the waves.

Getting ready...

The weather was great - overcast and not crazy hot.

The boys had time for miniature golf & fast food with G & G during our 56mile bike ride.
Thanks Grandma & Grandpa for another wonderful vacation!

Celebrating after - what a day!

Getting ready to go back to reality.

A welcome home surprise of beautiful sidewalk art on our driveway. Thanks to my dear friends (& running cohorts), Liz & Kristen and their families for cheers from home & Liz sharing her bike trailer yet again.  The aero bars from Greg made the bike ride dreamy. Only a dedicated coach would run the last 7 miles with Jeff - Kudos to Kim!

We both improved our 2010 time by over 30 minutes!
What's our next adventure baby?!?!

A GREAT Visit!

We were blessed to have Jeff's Grandma/the boy's only living Great Grandma & his cute Aunt Pat come stay with us.  Grandma is almost 91 years old and she runs around like someone half her age.  Grandma & Pat watched soccer and baseball games, went to the Cyclorama, Hunger Games/The Lorax, out to eat, golf cart rides, an egg hunt, and much more.  We loved having them here and hope they'll keep coming at least until Grandma is 100:)

Double Digits

Justin recently said that he is going to be the only one in the family not in the
double digits.  I told him he'd be 10 before I blinked.  Nick hollered from the other
room, "Mom I blinked 10 times and Justin isn't 10 yet."  That's our Nick:)
Happy Day Sweet Nicholas - We Love You!

Heart to Heart

Brandon won the mile run at N & J's school race.  His time was 6:50.
Justin raced in shortly after.  Nick and Mom ran the 5K.
(Kurt had baseball & Dad was flying).
Love this yearly family tradition!
