Kurt's baseball traveling team won the State Championships!
Kurtis played catcher, 3rd, and left field. He's notorious for stealing home and sliding head first into home plate.  Way to go Kurt Kurt!

 

 

 

Scrubby Scouts

Our little "scrubby scouts" had day camp this week and loved it!

50+ Miler

Brandon just completed a 50 (more like 60) miler! The scouts and fearless leaders backpacked over 30 miles of it and rafted the other 20+. Thanks to Ben Johnson for organizing and carrying out this incredible experience, as well as Sean Miner, Steve Leavitt and Barry MacArthur. Jeff was able to spend a couple days for the "food drop" and first day of rafting.

Cement

I love cement! I've been wanting some for a long time with a hoop for the boys and I'm always up for another project. The boys didn't seem thrilled about it, but I figured worse case scenario it would be less edging/mowing and I'd learn how to shoot baskets. Well, I truly think it's one of our best investments ever and I think the boys like it too:) 

 

Next project - paint all the lines.

 

Youth Tri

Another fantastic Youth Triathlon. Kurtis had a baseball game and had to miss it,

but the other 3 boys and I had a fun tri morning.

Scout Camp

Brandon and Kurtis had a fun week at Camp Thunder. 

Thanks to our new scout master John Maenhardt and

all the other adults who spent the week with our cute boys!

 

New Driver

Brandon was up at the crack of dawn ready to get his learner's permit. Silly mom thought that if you arrived at 8:03, you'd be in and out in no time.  Well, the line was back to the middle of the parking lot and an hour and a half later, our sweet boy had his permit.  Gotta love government buildings (another story - ahhh!)

I drove Brandon to get some food and then he (my baby that I can't believe is old enough to drive!) drove home.  I must say for the first time behind the wheels (besides golf carts - which I think is a wonderful step to teach kids how to drive) he did really well.  I'll ride with him again:)  Brandon's been out on the golf cart all day running my errands, taking brothers for rides and loving the freedom!

Baseball

Kurtis LOVES baseball. He's on a traveling team that has won 3 out of 4 tournaments.  He used his birthday and eagle money to buy a nice new bat (which cost as much as Jeff paid for his first car - ahhhh).  One of my favorite mom things is to go to the ball fields and watch Kurt do what he loves to do!
