USU and BYU

Flew to SLC Tuesday afternoon and had Kurtis moved into his new apartment at USU by 10:30am Wednesday morning, so he could be to work at Five Guys.  After a quick Walmart run, Kurt even cooked a burger for us:)
Brandon and I stopped to visit Great Grandma on the way home from Logan.  Pat & Ronnie came to see us too!  Can't thank them enough for all they do for Grandma~
We got to see all the Austins for dinner - so fun to catch up!
While I played with B & K, Jeff played with Nutmeg...and N & J.
Brandon's mission friends came over to Grandpa & Grandmas for a party.  Basketball, pool, dinner, dessert, laughter and happy memories!
We met some of the Dalby clan for dinner.
Sit-up contest, walk with Dad, visit with Lisa, Grandma taught Brandon
how to make brownies, such a fun few days!
Dropped Brandon off at BYU Sunday evening.  He's all set and ready
to begin college life.  Fun to have his cousin Abbie close by.
We miss you but know Oh, the Places You'll Go Kurtis and Brandon!
We love you~

The boys finally got Nutmeg in the pool.
Huge help from the paddle-board and treats:)
Eclipse was not quite as amazing as anticipated,
but family dinner after was a treat!

Six Flags & Coca-Cola

Jeff and Six Flags are both 50!
Brandon wanted to go to the Coke Museum before leaving for BYU.
So the boys enjoyed the day drinking lots of cola.

Arkansas Adventure

Our summer vacation to Arkansas was awesome! We went to see my cousin J-me and her beautiful family. The Bills have an amazing cabin that they have put countless hours, love and sweat into - so fun to enjoy the results! We were treated like royalty and so appreciate Ken & J-me's generosity and kindness~

Brandon is Home!!!!

Waiting at the airport...not patiently:)
Brandon did not come up the escalators because of departing the plane
at the T gates.  After he went to baggage, Brandon wandered over and
found us waiting, and came up to us from behind.
Oh Happy Day!
Some serious walking throughout his mission...
Brandon is Home - Ye Ha!!!

Brandon's last mission email sent July 3, 2017 entitled "the name tag is written in my heart":

Well, this week was a pretty good week! Sadly...it was my last full week that I have being a fulltime missionary, not a missionary though... that name tag is written in my heart. I have loved my mission so much! The people, the country, some parts of the culture haha, but also I have grown to love my Savior Jesus Christ.

When I came out to the mission, I didn't make a promise to follow him for 2 years, but throughout all of eternity. I am looking forward to seeing how much I have grown when I get back and although it will be hard, it will be better because of the rock I am built upon.

I am looking forward to seeing you all if you can make it This Sunday in church for my homecoming talk!!! I will explain so much more! I don't have a ton of time right now, but I am so, so happy I came out here. I wouldn't take this back for anything. I will be going back to El Salvador tomorrow and Thursday I will be with my AMAZING family :)

Thank you so much to ANYONE who ever prayed for me or sent me an email or talked to my mom about me or anything! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! I will be forever grateful! See you all soon! - Elder Austin

First World problems and 4th of July

Huge rain storm Sunday night caused lots of debris to spill into the pool.  I woke up to this (looked worse in real life).  Jeff was working so Trustys came to help me start the cleaning process.  Cardons came later in the day and helped some more.  So thankful for awesome friends!  Not the best time to have the pool turn brown:(
Happy Independence Day
Dad and Grandpa & Grandma flew in just in time for fireworks!
